This review is going to be a tad different from other Sentai reviews as Boonboomger is still airing. As such, this review will only cover the first half of the show, which includes the first two arcs called Laps. After the green screened festival that was King-Ohger, Toei decided it was time to go back to a more traditional looking Sentai show. This new show then became titled Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger. They hired a man named Atsuhiro Tomioka to helm the series. Tomioka’s past works include several Pokemon episodes across a multitude of series while also being the head writer for the Digimon Adventure remake and writing several Dragonball Super episodes. Boonboomger is his first time tackling a Toku series. Is Tomioka a strong enough writer to take on a year long show that is completely his own? Let’s see how things are going so far.
